Ok, here’s commandment #8 of The Commandments of Cartooning:
8. Thou shalt..stay inspired by reading or watching your favorite artistic media.
Once in a while your tank goes a bit empty and you get distracted by life or other things.
How do you get back in the zone? Back in the groove? You go back to the inspiration that started it, in my case it’s often a certain comic but it could also be a cartoon, a scene in a movie or a video game! In any case go back to the well and refuel the idea or character. Something new may inspire you too! Try checking your local comic shop and see what catches your eye or go to the library and check out the graphic novels that take a different approach to drawing.
What do you guys think? What do you do to stay inspired to keep drawing?
As always check out my new YouTube channel 10-Second Cartooning for regular videos and if you’re already a subscriber, I say thank ya.
Here’s something that inspired me to draw, Roger Moore as James Bond
